CITRIC ACID POWDER 500gms
Acid pickle: pH 1.5 - 2.0
85g (3oz) citric acid
450g (1lb) salt
per 4L (1 gallon) clean water
You will need approx. 20L water for each deer skins.
1. Place salted hide into the pickle solution for a minimum time of 72 hrs.
2. You can remove the hide anytime during the pickle to shave the skin as thin as possible.
The thinner the skin is shaved the softer and more flexible it will be. Each time you have finished shaving
put the hide back into the pickle
3. Once the minimum time has been reached for pickling and can remove the hide from the pickle and rinse in cold water.
